We are an ordinary couple with no children who enjoy travelling, camping, hiking and the great outdoors! Our reason for starting up this website is to share some of our experiences and hopefully inspire others.
Paul works in IT and Yvonne works as a fitness instructor and the main passion we share is our love of travel.
When we were in our early thirties we had saved for a few years, then quit our jobs to go travelling, which we did for almost a year and a half through Asia and Australasia.
Since then we have tried to tick as many outstanding places off of our “list” as possible during our annual leave. Of course, the list still keeps growing!
We enjoy all standards of comfort depending on the destination, what we want to see & do, and how we want to experience it. Sometimes a little luxury allows us to experience things that you can’t achieve on a budget, like getting up in the early morning light to watch the sunrise over Iguazu Falls while the park is still closed to tourists, which can only be done if staying at the expensive Belmond Hotel das Cataratas. However, we equally enjoy camping trips such as a 3 week “overland” from Victoria Falls to Cape Town, where the destinations, experiences and scenery can be enjoyed whilst camping under the stars, without feeling the need for the comfort of a hotel.
We also enjoy photography and more recently videography.
Under our “UK”, “Europe” and “Rest of the World” menus, you will find travel pages with a mix of information and photos, which we hope our readers will find useful in helping to plan a trip.
In addition, we have recently also started to add some “Photo Journeys” of older or “packaged” trips. Although these pages lack information, we hope the photos will perhaps inspire our readers to visit these places.
